How to take care of your car properly

>> Tuesday, June 12

I started driving when I was in grade 6. That was almost 10 years ago (owned my car just last year) and I can say that it got me skilled enough to triumph my everyday race-- rush hour.

Every day, I have to overtake at least 30 cars, near miss people and risk my life to win the luxury of not being late + Unreduced salary.

My lengthy time driving experience and everyday battles have developed me to become a safe driver. That’s the best skill to have to satisfactorily safe guard yourself and your car against minor scratches to total wreckage and even death.

Perks are also granted. Undeniably you get more attractive sliding down those tinted windows asking that hot chic for directions. You get to escape the hassle of riding jam packed PUV’S.  You obviously experience more places.

The longer you drive, the more you acquire proper driving skills and smart care for your car. I got some basic tips here, well, uniquely formulated.

Don’t wash your car with detergent soap. That’s harsh and leaves stains. Use shampoo.
Car wash means drying up. Don’t leave the car wet.
Avoid jam packing your car with people. Car consumes more gas when loaded.
Avoid free parking. You may save up but I bet the risk of your car getting scratches or stolen will bother you all day.
Lock all the doors once all the passengers get in. We got “bukas pinto gang”  in the Philippines.
Don’t let the gas meter reach zero before you gas up.
Don’t risk driving through small passages if you are not sure you can.
Avoid driving around squatters’ area.
Avoid unpaved roads.
Avoid high acceleration and deceleration. Force is a product of mass and acceleration. Greater mass + higher acceleration equals greater force. Force needs gas.
Don’t have sex inside. Get a room.
Don’t let your chic drive your car just for the sake of pogi points.
Love your car more than yourself. You sometimes risk yourself getting into fights when you know you’re right; you can’t do that to your car. Do defensive driving.
It is okay to look panicky for your car when you are in doubt of the place. That’s normal.
Be responsible.

Having car is not just having one. It involves relationship, maintenance and experience. Hehehe!

Father stop

>> Friday, May 25

Being a father is never an easy thing. Imagine having 5 people on your shoulder, giving their needs and desires. That’s fuckin’ hard I can’t even provide for myself. Me being a licensed professional Engineer, that doesn’t change anything –I’m still provided; my car, fraction of my gas; food. I still can’t stand without him.

My father even had to face the worse challenge; providing while being shown no love. We love him though. It could be just us deficient of the courage to show him. What’s harder than going home drunk, brain jam-packed with problems, expectant of love but gets nothing better than a sofa to sleep in? That’s a dead life. That’s going to get me bad side turned on.
He and my mom got emotionally detached more than a year ago. Before that, they were like kids who could not last a day without fighting. That I learned a mother and a wife are diverse roles and you can’t always be good in performing both at the same time. She’s a good mother that’s all I can say.
We got used to hating. We never noticed how the hell it got this worse. I stood by my side of being silent. I love them all and silence was the only best thing I knew..NOT, now. No one among us is blameless.
I knew my father went to clubs, got girls and all that. One thing I was proud of and made me tolerant was the fact that he always had different girls and never stayed at one bitch. Precisely, he’s safe from getting attached. I never saw this coming around, my father being serious and committed to having an extra-marital affair. That hurts. That troubles us. I was even once deprived of my car because ofthat  bitch, but that is not the more bothering thing. We don’t want to see him breaking down and losing everything he has worked for in all those working years.
I don’t know how I’m going to see this ending; it has started to eat us up. The devil even made me think of the thing I knew I was never going to do; I started formulating a plan of ending the bitch's life. No, I won’t let the devil defeat us. The devil wants this. All we have to do is pray. Do the right thing. Show my father extra love. Get into his conscience. And be brave enough to tell him stop all these shit pa. I wish it is this easy.
When you are almost to give up on things, that’s when God sends light. This morning I got a text from my brother;
“You’re not alone, you’re being allied, and I’m fighting with you” are things a person on the peak of giving up needs to hear.
This got me my faith back, stronger trust that everything will eventually be solved. I hope so. God does no sleeping.

LIFESAVERS RUN 2012

>> Monday, May 14

Organized by the Philippine Navy Reservists, The Lifesavers Run 2012 was held at the Bonifacio Naval Station, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig. I signed up for 5k and finished it in (time to be announced and pictures to follow).

I arrived at the venue at 5:00 AM rushing for everything thinking the gunstart had started already. The minute I got there with my running buddy, they were all just warming up so I still had time to have breakfast. Luckily they had stands that sold banana and coffee. They also had appropriate baggage area however I dint feel the need since I brought my car.
The entire event was militarily executed, TIME, LINE and the RUN PROPER. I was able to run with Coach Rio (This was my 1st time). He was wearing a complete set of running gears and that got me fueled to run faster. I wish I had complete gears too. It was also cool running with his RIO afro group and with those military groups chanting louder and louder as they got closer. One group who won was a group of half-naked navy men. I thought THAT WAS LIKE A MILITARY ORDER to them. hahaha.
We could have enjoyed the event more if we didn’t fail to win new friends. It was a run attended mostly by men. I rarely saw good women present. But all in all LifeSavers Run was well-organized and good enough for my P600. I got a singlet, finisher certificate, loot bags and pins.. also had the chance to take pictures with huge military tanks and high powered guns…GOOD ENOUGH :)

My new passion: RUNNING

>> Monday, May 7

Hey hey! Today is Monday and I’ve got no work load to resist. Last week was too eventful and demanding - had to get a design done (MAIBARARA GEOTHERMAL) you know, Engineering stuffs; prepared for TINTIN's departure, a life changing moment and a lot more definitions of my life.

When she left, I was left with unfilled calendars and I find that depressing –
No more dinner dates, no movies, no journeys. JUST WORK.

Providentially, I’m an Engineer educated to calculate conclusions. I had my PRIMAVERA class last January that taught me my planning ability, utilizing this gave me something to fill into my porous time.
I PLANNED to RUN!

My appetite for running was given by my 1st RUN last April. That was my company’s (EEI CORPORATION) ANNIV FUN RUN held at Makati. I registered for 10K but completed only 5K with a lot of walk contamination..and slow pacing. Being behind the race got me determined to excel in running.
I then googled for FUN RUNS and most links directed me to WWW.TAKBO.PH. There I found a list of RUNS with corresponding dates, forums and running tips. Suddenly I found myself engaging to comment threads and finally registered to one of the run listed – 1st AmCham Run for Scholar. Their purpose is to raise funds for 50 scholars for 2012. I joined the 3K run for P500.

In preparation for this, last Wednesday night (May 2, 2012) I ran around UP oval and roughly completed almost 5K (with a running buddy PAUL BAUDIN).. We don’t know exactly about 6 rounds. HAHA. I’m thinking of training tomorrow alone, unless somebody’s willing to join me.
I’m still eyeing for other run events, these are those;

The best things you get from joining runs are the fact that most of them are for a good cause AND you get to have and collect singlets and race kits AND that’s healthy J

Just in case someone out there wishes for a running buddy, I’m willing to be one. Just email me at geloagi@yahoo.com or text me: 09166928808

Licensed Civil Engineer, finally.

>> Thursday, December 22

JUNE 2006
6 years ago, after graduating from Diliman Preparatory School, naghahanap lang ako ng school na papasukan for college.
Wala kaming pera nuon. Tapos, nakita ko ang TIP-QC (TECHNOLOGICAL INSTITUTE OF THE PHILIPPINES). Never ko pa ito narinig nung una hahaha. Engineering school din pala. Nagtake ako ng exam for Guillermo De Vega Scholarship and lucky enough, sumabit ako bilang top 41. Last passer na cover ng full scholarship, one miss scholarship dies.

Along the way.. nagaral ako dun. Until dumating ako ng 4th year.

1st year to 3rd year, ayan madali pa jan, pang GRADE 1 pa. Pero nung graduating nako, 5th year second sem. BOOM. Pero syempre, life went on, I stood up ang just took the subject again. Kaya summer grad ako. :)

College life ended there. I had to forgive those who brought me down.
Anung sense nun?

JUNE 2011
Ayun. Tapos nako sa college, 2012 pako magmamarach sa PICC. Kalungkot.

Right away I started my review for the board exam. Sa MEGAREVIEW ako nagenroll. Unang part struggle. Imagine, lahat ng inaral mo ng 5 years aaralin mo in 5 months. Okay naman sa MEGAREVIEW. Mahirap. Kelangan mo talaga maging masipag.

Masaya nung review. Masaya magDORM. First 2 weeks, masipag pa, nagtatop pako sa evaluations e, pero after that, next two months, inuman na kami ng magaling kong roommate na si Marky. Nagdadala pa kami ng chix dun. Ang saya kasi walang bawal. Kahit umagahin kami walang may pakialam! hahaha. PARTY PARTY! may disco ball pa kami.

OCTOBER 2011
Hanggang dumating yung countdown. less than 100 days nalang.

1 week na hindi ako nakapagaral, nung una physical pain, this time emotional pain.

1st day, MATHEMATICS AND TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERING (7AM to 12PM) ayun. sobrang excited. Wala pang time pinasa ko kagad. 1 hour and 30 minutes lang ako nagexam. Kaya ayun may mali kagad pagpasa palang. Kung nareview ko pa yun ng mabuti malamang naitama ko pa yung mali ko na yun. hay! move on na. tapos 2nd exam on the 1st day HYDRAULICS AND GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING (1PM to 5PM), this time talagang sinigurado ko na, inubos ko talaga yung oras, pagpasa ko alam ko perfect ako pero may isa palang mali :|

2nd day, STRUCRURAL AND CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING(7AM to 12PM). Pumikit ako for about mga 15 minutes. Nagdasal talaga ako ng taimtim. Then nagstart nako magsagot.
